Interesting Info About Buyers and Sellers

Some interesting findings came out of  NAR’s (National Association of Realtors) recent survey of buyers and sellers.  For instance, the portion of buyers who were married couples was at its highest levels since 2001 while the share of single buyers was at its lowest since 2001.  Why?  Perhaps it’s because the credit and lending standards are much tougher now.  Married couples tend to have more buying power since their incomes are often combined in the loan approval process.

The typical seller lived in their home for nine years.  In 2007, this figure was only six years.

The typical FSBO (for sale by owner) home sold for $174,900 compared to $215,000 among real estate agent-assisted homes
